This Chalisa Darshan CD is a garland of the most famous and popular “Chalisas” of modern times: the Gayatri Chalisa, Hanuman Chalisa, Chalisa Ram Krishna and Shiv Chalisa, accompanied by their “Aartis” (the fire of knowledge).
“Chalisas” are composed from forty verses. Each of them is dedicated to a divinity and when they are sung with emotion and devotion, it leads to spiritual elevation of the devoted person and, consequently, to the improvement of society. In a time of difficulties, Hanuman is a synonym of stability and balance, the complete master of self and he is a symbol of victory over evil.
Legend has it that Sant Tulsidas composed the Hanuman Chalisa when he was very ill and at completion, he rediscovered his health. Thus, we feel that the Hanuman Chalisa chant is a very powerful prayer to get over health problems. Likewise, different Chalisas interpreted on the CD will be beneficial to all. Each has its own ensemble of qualities which contribute to maintaining happiness and to get over despair. In today’s world of stress caused by illnesses, these prayers are all the more relevant for good health and to pacify our household. The chant of these Chalisas, interpreted with faith and devotion will bring realisation of wishes, joy and happiness into your life.
The importance of the aarti takes place at the end of all the cult rituals, accompanied by the sound of the bells. The lamp is lit up, held in the right hand and is shaken clockwise, encircling a motion which puts into the light the divinity while prayers are recited. The signification of that resides in the fact that our mind becomes concentrated when we see the enlightened form of the Lord in all his beauty.
Numerous followers shut their eyes in the aarti exercise. That signifies the end of our life for finding the Lord inside, and becoming one with Him. Consequently, each of us is a temple of the Lord. Camphor (Kapur) represents our desires and it is burnt at the end of the aarti. Camphor, when it burns, does not leave any residue. All as it is lit up by the fire of knowledge (aarti) – we want the Lord to burn our desires and to not leave a trace of ego.
